Rangers have made another desperate attempt to stop Celtic 9IAR after no evidence of any corruption was found against SPFL during an investigation.

It’s looking desperate for Rangers as yet another statement is issued.  As sure as eggs are eggs and there are no cups to put them in, we see another blustering attempt from Ibrox to try and look after No.1 and see if they can find any way to avoid being No. 2.

Rangers are asking for a General Meeting of all 42 SPFL clubs to consider calling an independent investigation into the recent how the season ends resolution.  It lists 7 points, some of which seem to misunderstand corporate governance principles, readers might say that’s not a surprise!

For example questioning why Dundee’s original No vote could be disregarded overlooks the key point that clubs who voted No were allowed to change their vote, so an amendment to Yes would have been allowed even had their first vote gone through properly.

It’s very likely that the SPFL would want an early part of any discussion about an independent inquiry to cover the one they have just commissioned Deloitte to carry out.

As reported by BBC, a letter today to clubs the SPFL said:

"“Deloitte’s examination of phone records, mobile communications (including texts) and email data has identified no evidence of improper behaviour by SPFL personnel concerning the submission of the Dundee FC vote”"

Deloitte went on to confirm there is “No evidence of improper behaviour.” That seems pretty conclusive unless you are best of three sort of club. Rangers say they have a dossier of evidence which they are willing to share. But not with the SPFL and only to an independent investigation, another one!

People will have to see the evidence soon if we aren’t all to think this is just desperation. Challenging the clubs, the executives and the board of the SPFL it’s hardly making friends on the journey!

Celtic you ask? Just waiting patiently and quietly in a respectful manner to see how this all plays out.
