Sunderland star roasts Rangers with his Celtic mug
The Sunderland star brilliantly roasted Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side without even uttering a word, using his Celtic mug.
There is no shortage of material for Celtic fans to troll the Rangers considering how bad they have been over the last decade or so. Their liquidation in 2012, their subsequent reincarnation and the trophyless years that followed have made for some great banter at their expense.
What makes things even funnier is the fact that how most of their fans consider the Ibrox club to be the best in the country or at least pretend to do so. It is a different thing that they have been left praying that the season is cancelled due to the global outbreak of the coronavirus, because that is their last hope of stopping Celtic from winning nine-in-a-row as they could not get the job done on the pitch after claiming for months that they were going to dethrone them.
And it is not only people directly associated with Celtic who seem to be poking fun at the Rangers. This time it is Sunderland’s Chris Maguire who has roasted them.
With people being put under lockdown in order to prevent the virus from spreading any further, footballers must be missing the adrenaline rush of performing in front of thousands of fans every week. Thus a lot of them seem to be hosting Q&A sessions in order to interact with them. And one fan asked Maguire whether he would rather play for Newcastle United or Rangers.
While Sunderland share a heated rivalry with Newcastle United, Maguire has always made it clear that he is a Celtic fan despite never having played for the Hoops. And although he did not give an answer to the question, he did pretend to think about it while sipping from his Celtic Treble Treble mug. Top class banter!
