Alex Rae is in hot water with Celtic fans again as he made a desperate to somehow prevent the Hoops from winning nine-in-a-row.

For someone who just spent a couple of seasons at Ibrox as a professional footballer, he sure does back the Rangers a lot. An unbiased opinion is not something that you can expect from him. And much like most of their fans, he appears to be looking for a way to get this season declared ‘null and void’ in order to prevent Celtic from lifting a record-equaling nine-in-a-row.

Rangers’ title challenge appeared dead and buried just about a month back as they fell 13 points behind Celtic in the Premiership table. The suspension of the league has somehow given renewed hope though that although they could not stop the Hoops from winning on the pitch, they can certainly do so off it.

Thus their cries for ‘null and void’ have gained traction, thanks in large part to some of their former players who are in the media at this point. And Alex Rae is one of the guys at the forefront of the movement.

The Scottish Rugby season was declared ‘null and void’ a couple of days and would not know who had something to say. Rae retweeted the official with clapping emojis. The signal was clear, he wants the football association to do the same.

We have already discussed the problems with such a step multiple times already. Clubs are already under immense financial pressure, and cancelling the season will further increase it on them as they will be liable to pay back broadcasters and season ticket holders.

Out of every club in the world, you would expect Rangers fans to know how badly a financial crisis can end. But as it turns out, they’ll probably accept going under again before seeing Celtic make history.
