Celtic fans were left furious by a former Rangers star’s stance on the fate of the Premiership title as he continues to push the ‘null and void’ agenda.

Football leagues all around the world were forced into suspension in March due to the global outbreak of coronavirus. And with a million cases reported and the rate of infection only going up at the moment, it is hard to say when things will return to normal. Thus many clubs are staring at a bleak future and Celtic fans have been left wondering about the fate of the title.

Celtic had a 13 point lead at the top of the table when the league was suspended. And now it remains to be seen what decision they will take regarding the current campaign. They can decide to finish it as it stands right now, handing Celtic the title as a result. Or they could decided to play out the remaining 8 games whenever things are back to normal.

Many Rangers fans though seem to be more interested in getting the entire season declared ‘null and void’. And nobody can blame them to be honest. After claiming in the early parts of the season how they were set to dethrone Celtic from the Scottish throne, they were headed for another trophyless campaign. Getting the season cancelled is their only hope of stopping the Hoops from winning a record-equaling ninth straight league title.

After the Rugby season was declared ‘null and void’ earlier this week, Alex Rae sent out this tweet. The implication was very clear:

As expected Celtic fans were not too happy with Rae and let him know about it in no uncertain terms:

Cancelling the season and declaring it ‘null and void’ comes with many consequences. And it could end up putting Rangers out of business, again. Unfortunately their fans appear to prefer that over witnessing Celtic make history once again.
