A current Rangers star has made an unexpected admission about Celtic, and what the Hoops are doing to the Rangers clubhouse.

It is well documented how Celtic have been a clearly superior club to Rangers, domestically, for the last few years (performance-wise). Eyeing a quadruple-treble this season, the Hoops nearly have another record-breaking season in the bag.

While it is normal for a rivalry to get heated every season, especially between this two clubs, it never really shows from the players. Unless of course it is leaked to the media, or you’re Alfredo Morelos, and your entire life is for show in the public eye…

It is even more rare for a player, and a leader, of a club to come out and let the world know how much your bitter rival is actually affecting your clubhouse. However, that is exactly what happened when Rangers defender Nikola Katic spoke to the media.

According to the Daily Record, the Rangers clubhouse has been ‘tormented’ by a ‘ruthless’ Celtic this season. Here is what he said:

"“The end of last year was really top-notch for us. We were two points behind Celtic with a game in hand. We won at Celtic Park and everything was great.“But after that we got ourselves into a crisis and we have been tormented by it. Celtic, on the other hand, were really ruthless since the winter break. They played superbly and so they got away from us.”"

It is hard to believe that a Rangers player like that would just come out with that information. It appears he is not worried that that would be used against him this season, especially with the possibility that the last football has already been played.

Now, Celtic have the mental advantage over their opponents in the coming years with this inside knowledge. As if we did not know that already. It’s only so many times that you can see your rivals lift the trophy before it starts to eat away at you.
