Celtic once again have proven their class when it comes to ensuring that they club does the right thing, even when it sometimes hard to do.

Business, hotels, restaurants and pubs are all shutting down across the globe in response to helping ‘flatten the curve’ of the spread of the novel coronavirus. As such, many employers are cutting back hours, or complete wages altogether. But not Celtic.

One club in the Scottish Premiership League, Hearts. has already asked employees, and players to take a 50% wage cut in order to help meet the bottom line. While sad, and not what fans want to read, this is not exclusive to football and is happening everywhere around the world.

However, where it isn’t happening is in the Parkhead area of Glasgow. With news of Hearts cutting wages, many Hoops fans have been worried about what will happen to Celtic employees that are not apart of football operations.

Some concerned fans have taken to Twitter, but their fears were assuaged when Celtic supporter liaison officer John Paul was able to quell any questions about whether or not Hoops employees of all kinds would be taken care of:

Throughout its history, the club has always tried to do the right thing. With such unprecedented times we are experiencing, the narrative and actions are not changing with this club.

For that, all fans can be proud of them and what they do for the community. It’s more than just a football club.

In times like these, it is important to remember the things that we love and hold so dear to our hearts. And if you are reading this, chances are you love the Hoops. So tell us your favourite Celtic memories in the comments below, and what made you become a Celtic supporter.
