Adidas have released a statement on the ‘legendary’ Celtic fan base following the announcement of their five-year deal with the Scottish champions.

In the midst of terrible times, there is some good news for Celtic fans. The season has been suspended indefinitely at the moment following the outbreak of coronavirus all around Europe, with the Glasgow Derby being called off after at first it was scheduled to be played behind closed doors. This has raised a lot of questions with regards to the fate of the title.

Adidas and Celtic have managed to come to terms on a 5-year manufacturing kit right now. And while the financial details of the deal are yet not known, it is expected to be the biggest kit deal in the history of Scottish football. It is certainly going to be a step-up from the £25-million New Balance deal.

Celtic are currently flourishing both on and off the pitch, and this domination looks set to continue. While the club has won the last 8 league titles, they have also posted impressive profits off the field and that should rise further with this new deal.

And while Celtic fans are rightfully delighted with this deal, it seems that the German manufacturing giants share the same enthusiasm as well. As reported on the Celtic website, Adidas said:

"“Celtic’s successful football history and future ambition make us hugely excited to be working together to create a new chapter with one of the most famous football clubs in the world.“We are obsessed with helping athletes improve their game, life and world and as such we look forward to supporting Celtic’s players on the pitch as they continue to create new levels of success, and we are confident their legendary fanbase will love our designs.”"

With no football in the foreseeable future with all leagues suspended at the moment, this is at least some good news for the Celtic supporters. Thankfully they have not been left hoping that the entire season is scrapped unlike fans of some other clubs.
