It looks like time is quickly running out for Steven Gerrard at Ibrox after Rangers fans turned on him as a 2-2 draw vs St Johnstone left them 12 points behind Celtic.

Just a couple of months ago they were worshiping him as if he was the greatest thing in football management since Sir Alex Ferguson. A Premiership win was almost a given, after they had ‘conquered’ Parkhead for the first time since 2010. And with a win in their game in hand, they will have jumped over Celtic to reach the top of the table – a foregone conclusion in their mind.

All you see now at Ibrox today though is panic and finger-pointing. The period following the winter break has been an absolute disaster for the club. In the 8 league games since coming back from their training camp in Dubai. they have lost two and drawn twice as well, to leave them 12 points behind their Glasgow rivals. And Kris Boyd was not the only one having a meltdown.

Steven Gerrard on the other hand has continued to deflect blame on to the players after each defeat, seldom accepting any part of the blame for their recent dip in form. Every week there is someone or the other who is to blame for the dropped points but never Gerrard himself. This time it was the defence, a few weeks ago it was the attack, maybe it is the midfield’s turn next week.

Unfortunately, it looks like Rangers fans patience is quickly running out in the man. After the recent draw against St Johnstone that saw a 12-point gap open up between the top two teams in Scotland, the fans raised questioned regarding the manager:

With just 10 league games left to play (11 for Rangers), it will take a minor miracle for this relentless to somehow not win this title. And that will only pile on more pressure on the club next season, to stop their rivals from winning a record 10-in-a-row. The question is – will Gerrard be at Ibrox till then?

Celtic are reportedly not impressed with new signing. light. MUST READ
