Kris Boyd makes huge statement about Celtic striker

Kris Boyd’s recent comments about Odsonne Edouard are certainly interesting considering how seldom he has good things to say about Celtic players.

Let us get this out of the way first – Odsonne Edouard is different class. If you have any other opinion about the Celtic striker, it is absolutely null and void. Odsonne Edouard is the man! That’s it.

And French Eddy has been on fire this season. In 37 appearances for the Hoops, the striker has scored 23 goals and provided a further 16 assists. That means he has been involved in 39 goals in 37 appearances (with a number of them coming off the bench). If we didn’t know better we’d think his first name was called Lionel.

That does not stop the detractors though. Often you can spot a Rangers fan claiming how Alfredo Morelos is a more lethal finisher than the Frenchman. Laughable!

One man who certainly does not have many good things to say about Celtic is Kris Boyd. The former Rangers man is known for his vocal support for the other team of Glasgow and even decided to attack  the Hoops fans in his column not too long ago after seeing his beloved Teddy Bears fall behind in the title race.

Edouard’s talents are such though that even Kris Boyd is forced applaud him. As reported by Sky Sports, the former Rangers man said:

"“Odsonne Edouard is an unbelievable talent, he’s shown that especially over the last couple of months. Will he be up there for player of the year? Yes, there is no doubt about that.“A lot has been made about the form of Leigh Griffiths as well but I think a lot of it is down to Odsonne Edouard because he can play with anybody. He can play in any league in the world as well.“I would not be surprised if Celtic have to fight off big bids for him come the summer because he is a top player and if Celtic are going to keep performing the way they have been, then it is crucial that he stays fit.”"

It goes without saying how vital Edouard is to this Celtic team. He is so much more than just his goals as well, every facet of his game screams ‘complete striker’. And while other players seem to go through their ups and downs, the Frenchman somehow always seems to make his mark on a football game.
