The identity of the person who mistranslated Alfredo Morelos’ comments regarding Celtic fans in the controversial interview with Sky Sports has been reportedly revealed!

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been all over the news this week and for all the wrong reasons. Nothing new, right? But this time around for a change, it is actually not the Colombian who is responsible for the controversy but the man who translated his comments regarding Celtic fans from Spanish to English.

The striker recently gave an interview to Sky Sports in which it looked like he was blaming the Celtic fans for being racist towards him in the recent Glasgow Derby at Parkhead when Morelos was sent off for diving. The Colombian spoke in Spanish and the interview was accompanied with English subtitles.

Spanish-speaking Celtic fans were quick to notice though that the subtitles were not actually translating what the striker was saying. And Morelos’ comments were later revealed to be very different from what had been shown by Sky Sports.

This has caused a huge controversy in Scottish football with Celtic even coming out of their self-imposed silence and releasing an official statement against Sky Sports. The interview has been since removed as the matter has clearly left the network red-faced and their reputation in tatters.

One man who has gained some sympathy in this situation is Alfredo Morelos. But that might not be for long though as according to the Daily Record, the video was translated by none other than the Colombian’s representative Michael Gorman.

This might mean that Morelos is not as innocent in this situation as he has been shown to be after it was revealed that he was mistranslated, which will explain the relative silence of those at Ibrox despite one of their top stars being in the middle of a media storm.
