Celtic defeated Hamilton Academic 1-4 on Sunday in spectacular fashion. Now, Hoops legend Chris Sutton has taken to social media to praise one star.
Celtic returned to Scottish Premiership League action on Sunday afternoon as they defeated Hamilton Academic 1-4. Hamilton put up a great fight through three-quarters of the match until the Hoops got the scoring underway in a big way late in the match.
Odsonne Edouard was once again a force to be reckoned with on the pitch by adding two goals to his stat sheet. Christopher Jullien continues to be one of the best signings the Hoops have made during any transfer window in recent memory. The centre-back added another goal on Sunday.
James Forrest, who many accused of disappearing near the end of the first half, has looked spectacular in recent matches. Forrest gave the Hoops another goal for good measure during extra time.
With the win on Sunday, the Hoops are now seven points ahead of Rangers after they dropped another two points on Saturday against Aberdeen. The club is been on a skyrocketing trend since returning to the pitch in the second half.
However, one player in particular has stood out recently, and that is Odsonne Edouard. After a two-goal performance, even Celtic legend Chris Sutton got in on the praise:
Celtic certainly not at their best... big 3 points...Edouard is phenomenal... good substitutions won the game... Hamilton didn’t deserve that... Gogic immense

Chris Sutton was spot on in more ways than one. Celtic’s performance was at best questionable throughout much of the match. However, they proved that they can get the job done late, and rebound from poor performance.
Those attributes will be important in bigger matches down the stretch, as well in the Europa League. This squad has enough talent to achieve all of their goals this season, especially if Odsonne Edouard continues to play to the level he has been recently. All of the hype surrounding him is real, unlike another striker across town.
