Celtic striker requests club to let him leave in January
By Kade Kistner
A major development has occured as reports now suggest that one Celtic striker has requested the club allow him to leave in January.
Celtic have a new problem on their hands as one of their strikers is asking for a January move according to the Scottish Sun. With the arrival of Polish-striker Patryk Klimala, Vakoun Issouf Bayo is worried about potential playing time on the pitch.
Vakoun Issouf Bayo’s worries are validated by the fact that in one year, the striker has made just 13 appearances, and has notched one goal in that timeframe. Much of that is due to injuries, and also falling out of favour with Hoops boss Neil Lennon.
With the signing and arrival of Patryk Klimala, the prospect of playing time for Vakoun Issouf Bayo has dramatically fallen. Patryk Klimala before the move to Parkhead publicly stated that he would not make a move to a team that would not give him playing time. Couple that with the fact that Neil Lennon is pondering a formation shift, and the writing is on the wall for Vakoun Issouf Bayo.
According to the Scottish Sun, Vakoun Issouf Bayo is not ruling out any opportunity that may come his way:
"“It’s understood Dutch and Swiss clubs have already shown an interest but the striker hasn’t ruled out a loan switch to another Premiership side if he gets the right offer.”"
A loan for Vakoun Issouf Bayo would be a great move for both his and the club’s future. The striker has potential to provide value and quality to the club, but will have a hard time doing so any time soon.
Speaking of strikers, Patryk Klimala’s arrival also puts Leigh Griffith’s situation in jeopardy. The striker has had a hard time taking the pitch this season, but with a possible Vakoun Issouf Bayo move on the horizon, Leigh Griffith’s role could expand, even if marginally so.
