Kris Boyd sent a warning to Celtic about newly acquired Polish striker Patryk Klimala after news broke of his signing with the club.
Celtic have newly acquired forward Patryk Klimala, a Polish striker who has made the move from Bialystok to the Scottish Premiership League. His arrival marks the first of big move signings for the club during the January transfer window.
By adding a striker, the club has helped provide cover at the position. Prior to signing Patryk Klimala, Odsonne Edouard was the only viable or legitimate option at the position. With Vakoun Issouf Bayo not instilling trust with his manager, the only other option was Leigh Griffiths.
Leigh Girffiths has had some up and down tendencies this season. He has had trouble getting on the pitch with numerous injuries and lack of fitness. And it seems Neil Lennon does not view him as a real option at this point in time.
That is why Patryk Klimala could have a large role in the first team almost immediately. However, Kris Boyd does warn of one thing regarding the club when he spoke with Sky Sports:
"“The big thing for me is that Celtic did need to bring in a forward player in. What are they getting? A player that’s really, really fast. He can play on the wing. I don’t think he’s the finished articles in terms of scoring goals. But does Neil Lennon change his formation to try and get him into the starting line-up?“There’s no doubt that Celtic they do need reinforcements in the forward areas.”"
It seems the Hoops are heeding the warning by signing Patryk Klimala. The young striker surely is not a finished product, but has the talent to make an immediate impact. Patryk Klimala has the opportunity to continue to grow, and see his role increase even further.
