Celtic have suffered another injury blow as one of the star’s has suffered a setback in his recovery while training in Dubai.

Celtic travelled to Dubai during the three-week break after the first half of the season. The warmer weather, and time off are designed to help players recover from injury, and get better prepared for the start of the second half of the season.

Near the end of the first half of the season, the Hoops were dealing with a number of injuries, and many were to stars and key players. Now, the Hoops have suffered another injury blow as star right-back Hatem Abd Elhamed has suffered another setback.

The incredibly talented defender has been sidelined with a groin injury since early November when he suffered the knock in the Europa League matchup against Italian-side Lazio. Since his injury, players such as Jeremie Frimpong and Moritz Bauer have had to cover for the experienced Israeli.

According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic manager has confirmed the set back for the right-back:

"“Elhamed still has a bit of a groin problem.“It’s not long term, but it could be a few weeks.“He sort of jolted his groin and got a reaction.“It’s actually not the same injury, it’s lower down and will maybe mean a couple of weeks.“He’s been brilliant for me and it’s a bit of a blow, but there’s nothing I can do about it. We have to be patient with it.”"

According to Neil Lennon‘s comments, it appears that Hatem Abd Elhamed will not be ready for action when the club returns against Partick Thistle on January 18th. Elhamed, when healthy, is the best right-back on the club, and he has proven he can be a difference maker. The issue has been keeping him on the field. Hopefully, he can fully recover and make a strong push into the second half of the season.
