Celtic is set to sign a rising-star and forward in the next 48 hours despite fierce competition with English Premier League clubs.

Celtic has yet to make a huge splash during this winter transfer window period, despite numerous rumours flying around. There is word the Scott Sinclair is on the move to Preston, but aside from subtractions, there has not been word on transfer movements.

Just recently, the Hoops were reported to have made a firm bid on striker Tino Kadewere, who would do excellent in the Hoops offense.

Now, there are reports that the Hoops will have their first official signing of the period within the next 48 hours according to Football Insider 247. Forward Bruno Davidson is set to sign with Celtic after having drawn interest from multiple clubs including Leicester City.

Davidson is currently 15-years old, and would sign a deal that would send him to the developmental squad. While he wouldn’t make much of a difference in the current title runs, he is a superb talent who could make a significant difference down the road.

Signing young talent has been the calling card of the Hoops for a very long time. As Football Insider 247 pointed out in the same article, Celtic have a distinct advantage over English clubs in signing young players. In Scotland, clubs can sign players to professional deals at age 15, while those in England have to wait until the player is 17-years old. This gives clubs like Celtic, who have global fame, an edge at signing young players.

While this is not the type of transfer news Hoops fans have been yearning for, it is a good example of the club keeping an eye on the future by scooping up generational talent. Now the club will face the challenge of adding immediate impact players in order to seal the deal on this season.
