Player of the Year:

Andy: Kieran Tierney, Celtic

Scott Sinclair was magical, wonderful last season. However, he was on his game from the get-go in Champions League qualifiers. We haven’t seen that so far this season, so I’m going to stick with the reigning champions, but I’m going to go off the usual path and select the best young player Scotland has in Tierney. I personally think he’s going to have a highlight year and this might be the last of him in Scotland for some time. Don’t be surprised to see a few more goals and a lot more assists from him this season. It’s a gut feeling, and I’ve learned to always trust my gut.

Conall: Scott Brown, Celtic

Like many things in life it takes for us to lose something before we realize how great and important that thing really was. It can be a job, a loved one or even your high school days. A lot of them may not know it yet but I think the same feeling may be felt by ALL Celtic fans when our current skipper finally bows out. We know what we will get every time ‘Broonie’ steps on to the field. He will leave everything out there and give no less that 100% for the cause.

With his reputation as a hard hitting midfielder I feel his technical ability is too often unfairly overlooked. Brown stepped up and took control of almost every big game that the hoops faced last season accumulating several man of the match winning performances as well as a very impressive statistic from his play in Europe. According to UEFA.com Brown had the most completed passes of any British player in last years Champions League with an astonishing 96% completion rate. That coupled with the fact that he captained the squad to an unbeaten treble, I predict the 32 year old will have a similar record breaking season.
