It is hard to believe, but the summer has already past and it is time for the Scottish Premiership to kick off this weekend.

Things will be a little different for us here in the United States, with absolutely no coverage on Fox Sports and all. We’ll have to settle for Celtic TV and maybe some day a digital package for the SPFL in general…I know, I know…wishful thinking.

But, on to the task at hand. It is time for us “experts” on all things Celtic (and by association the Scottish football) to put our money where our mouth is. Last season we got a late start to things and never got our predictions off.

Let us also remember that this first weekend of matches sees plenty of intrigue. Here is how the SPFL will kick off its 2017-18 season:

Saturday Aug. 5:

  • Celtic vs. Hearts (12:30pm local/7:30am ET)
  • Dundee vs. Ross County (15:00 local/10am ET)
  • Hibernian vs. Partick Thistle (15:00 local/10am ET)
  • Kilmarnock vs. St. Johnstone (15:00 local/10am ET)

Sunday Aug. 6:

  • Motherwell vs. Rangers (13:30pm local/8:30am ET)
  • Aberdeen vs. Hamilton Academical (15:00 local/10am ET)

So, with that out of the way, welcome to the first annual TCB Scottish Premiership Predictions piece.

Let’s just go ahead and dive in.
