After a shaky start to his Celtic career, Brown settled in rather nicely in the 2008-09 season. In fact, if it weren’t for his current form one could argue that the 2008-09 season may have been his best in his career.

He was at his international best and certainly his best for the Hoops as well. Brown netted seven of his career 25 goals for Celtic in that season alone and had just nine yellow cards (a small miracle considering he usually racked up double digit yellow cards).

That overall effort earned him just about every possible honor in Scotland that season. Brown was not only named Celtic’s Player of the Year (the only one of his career to date), but he was named the SFWA Player of the Year and the Players’ Player of the Year as well.

We’ll see if the awards come in the droves they did in 2009, but certainly Brown has had the effort this season to make that kind of run again this year.
