4. Equalizer at Ibrox

While no one will accuse Broonie of being a prolific goal scorer, he’s certainly scored some very important goals in his career. No goal could be more famous than the one he punched in to the back of the net against Rangers (the original version) back in 2011.

The score sat 2-1 in favor of the hosts in a Scottish Cup tie between the two at Ibrox and Celtic were down to 10 men on the pitch. No matter to the Bhoys, as they dominated most of the second half in possession.

After a dangerous set up, the ball eventually fell to Broonie, who unleashed a rare left-footed effort. It was simply sublime and given the situation with Rangers at the time one of the craziest goals in Celtic’s recent history.

That goal made it 2-2 in the 65th minute and it stayed that way as Celtic earned a replay at Paradise.

Even Broonie himself takes note of just how important that goal was in his career at Parkhead.

Was it a pivotal moment in my Celtic career? Yeah, I’d say so,” reflected Brown earlier this season.

“It was up with the best goals I have scored for Celtic, especially since we were down to 10 men.
