4. Celtic’s Unbeaten Start to Domestic Play in 2016-17 Season

Any time you can dominate your domestic competitions its a good feeling. But, what the Hoops have done in Scottish football has been near perfection. Only a 2-2 tie to Inverness in mid-September has prevented the Bhoys from a completely perfect start to the 2016-17 season.

It hasn’t really hurt Celtic though, as the team goes in to its final match of the 2016 calendar year with a 16-point lead over Sevco at the top of the table with a match in hand and the two meeting on Saturday afternoon at Ibrox.

Celtic’s unbeaten run has included an incredible +39 goal differential, with second-place Sevco just eight goals to the positive. It also has included a run to the League Cup championship, defeating Sevco in the final in November for the first trophy of the 2016-17 season.

Things have gotten so out of hand domestically, it is hard to imagine where the Bhoys are going to drop a match if they do at all this season. Probability says that Celtic will eventually drop a match, but even a nine-game match streak in 26 days this month hasn’t cost the Hoops a single point.

It has truly been a magical run at Paradise. Let’s see if it can continue as the calendar year runs out and turns to 2017.
