Wilfried Nancy has arrived as the manager of Celtic and already taken his first full session at Lennoxtown. Now, the real hard work begins for the Frenchman. He has been handed the toughest start possible. He will make his debut in a top-of-the-table clash against Hearts, as the home fans will get their first view of the new boss.

After that, he will lead Celtic out to play against AS Roma in the Europa League. And then, there is the Scottish League Cup final against St Mirren.

That is a tough three-game stretch of games and could go a long way in how Nancy is viewed by the fans. You get only one chance to make a first impression after all, and this could prove to be an everlasting one.

Of course, Celtic will need to back the manager in the January transfer window, and future ones, if they want to guarantee long-term success under his watch. And there seems to be some exciting news in that regard, as deals are already being worked on.

'Working already' - Wilfried Nancy drops exciting Celtic transfer news

As reported by Glasgow World, Nancy said regarding Celtic's January transfer plans:

"I need to know my players better. When the moment will come for new players, we’ve been working already. But let me see, after that we will adjust.

“They are a quality team but they have to believe more in themselves. There is tactical flexibility. They are good people, the idea is to challenge them and have a desire to do well.

“I want my players to be confident but I also want them to be humble."

Nancy does have around a month to get to know his squad better. But then again, with the amount of key players out with long-term injuries right now, one has to wonder how successfully that can be done under the current circumstances.

As we have seen during Martin O'Neill's run as interim manager, it is possible to get positive results with the squad available at this point in time. And one would imagine that Nancy will be expected to produce the same. If he can't, it won't take long for the supporters to raise questions about his suitability for the Parkhead role, if they were not doing so already.
