It is almost unbelievable that calls are being made for Wilfried Nancy to be sacked after just two games in charge of Celtic. But then again, we all know quickly things can happen in Glasgow. Once a manager enters that downward trajectory, it is pretty much impossible for them to turn things around and save their job. Just look at the previous four Rangers managers as an example.
Nancy lost his debut against an out-of-form Hearts side. He followed that up with a 3-0 loss at the hands of AS Roma. And in the process, the manager has already made some Celtic history.
He has become the first Celtic manager to lose his first two games in charge. Could he make it three out of three at the weekend when the Hoops take to the Hampden Park pitch to face St Mirren in the Scottish League Cup final?
As we have already mentioned in previous reports, if Celtic lose that final, it could be the beginning of the end for Nancy at Parkhead. And it looks like we are not the only ones with that same line of thinking.
Wilfried Nancy already tipped to be sacked by Celtic
As reported by the Daily Record, Gavin Berry said:
"It seems absurd but you know how it works at the Big Two in Scotland so it is realistic. I don't think the axe would fall if they if lost on Sunday night but I do think it would be very difficult for him to win the fans over and it could be the beginning of the end. Once you get into that downward spiral it's difficult and we witnessed that with Russell Martin across the city. If he loses on Sunday, the pressure will be really on."
It would be safe to say that Nancy is already under a lot of pressure to deliver after how his first two games have turned out. Now, it remains to be seen how the Frenchman reacts to that.
Will he decide to make a change to his ways and go for a more pragmatic approach in the final? Or will he stick to his ideas and be prepared to pay the price for it, if it comes down to that?
