Sean Dyche has been speaking amid links with the Celtic job. Martin O'Neill cast doubt on his position before the international break, leading to question marks aplenty, but it looks as though he will stay put for now.
With just a week until club action returns, if O'Neill was going to leave, it would almost certainly have been before now. But Celtic's tough run of games is not over yet, and O'Neill might find himself reconsidering if his team's form continues to slide.
One of the main names to have been linked with the Bhoys job is former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche. Dyche was last with Nottingham Forest, leaving in February, and he has been taking time out of the game since then. but he says 'doors have opened' to him during his time off.
"It's all encompassing being a manager," Dyche told BBC Sport. "Lots of doors have opened up [while I've been out of management], but it doesn't mean I won't go back in, first of all you've got to be offered a job."
While Dyche will almost certainly return to management, he is enjoying his break, especially due to having the chance to watch son Max in action for Northampton Town.
"The variance I'm getting right now is good," he added. "When Max plays I can watch, my daughter is away at university as well at the moment. I miss it in a way, but I've done a fair old stint as player and manager. I'm enjoying other things."
Reading between the lines, it would seem Dyche is only likely to return before the summer in certain circumstances, and who knows? The Celtic job could meet that criteria.
But a summer job might be his preference, especially after he joined Nottingham Forest mid-season and like many before him at the City Ground, only lasted a matter of months.
It remains to be seen whether Celtic would be interested in Dyche, whether that's in a few weeks or at the end of the season, but it does feel like a realistic appointment, unlike Eddie Howe, who has also been linked.
