Celtic are expected to make quite a few changes to their squad over the summer transfer window, thanks to their shaky form since the turn of the year. One of the areas where they are expected to strengthen is up top. Kyogo Furuhashi left the club in the winter and the Hoops did not end up replacing him at that point, instead opting to move Daizen Maeda to a central role.

Admittedly, Maeda has done superbly as a centre forward. Also, Adam Idah joined them in a big-money move last summer and more is expected from him. But at the end of the day, the Hoops could do with another option at striker.

It is quite clear that Johnny Kenny is not a real solution in that position at this point in his career. Sitting on the bench won't help him develop as a player either. So, expect him to leave in the summer, hopefully on a loan basis.

On the other hand, Danny Ings has been urged to join a club like Celtic. As reported by the Glasgow Times, Didi Hamann said:

"His playing time at West Ham has been restricted, and I think Celtic would be a great option for him.

"The standard of football is not quite as high as the Premier League, and I think he could get a new lease of life up there.

"He will certainly be on the radar of Celtic and maybe Rangers because he has a proven record of putting the ball into the net.

"If you make chances for him, he will show you where the goal is for sure."

Ings has been struggling for playing time at West Ham United at the moment. He has only made 17 appearances for the club this season, scoring a goal and providing a couple of assists as well.

One thing that could make the move even more likely is the fact that Ings' current deal with West Ham United is set to run out in the summer. So, he will be available as a free agent for the Hoops.

it remains to be seen how things play out for Ings. A club like Celtic could definitely be an option for him. The Hoops have been pretty open to the idea of signing veteran players as free agents in recent years as well.
