Scott Brown certainly knows a thing or two about Flag Day, having won so many league titles while captaining Celtic for such a long and successful period in the club's history. Of course, he has moved on since then, and is the manager of Ayr United right now. But that connection with the Hoops is always going to stay there.
As a result, Celtic fans are always happy to see him involved in the Scottish media as well, while continuing to manage Ayr United. That was the case ahead of the club's Flag Day celebrations.
Brown was appearing on Sky Sports, talking about Flag Day. He was appearing alongside Rangers legend Kris Boyd.
Broony was asked about what Flag Day means for a player and he did not miss the chance to take a dig at Boyd. The former Celtic captain said:
"Boyd isn’t used to it. It’s been a long, long time."
Watch: Celtic legend Scott Brown takes dig at Kris Boyd live on air
You can watch the video on Sky Sports Scotland's account. It is certainly an enjoyable watch if you are a Celtic fan. It most certainly has been a long, long time for Boyd and most Rangers supporters for that matter.
In terms of the table, this season has started pretty well for Celtic as they look to win a fifth straight league title. On the opening day, the Rangers ended up dropping points, as they could only manage a 1-1 draw.
On the other hand, Celtic were nowhere near their best on Flag Day themselves. But they had enough in the tank to find a late winner and win the game 1-0 to take all three points home and now they already have an advantage over the Rangers in the title race. It is not much but it is certainly starting on the right note.
