Wataru Endo makes Liverpool exit decision amid Celtic interest
It is nothing new for Celtic to be linked with Liverpool players. Last season, they had signed Nat Phillips on loan. This time around, there was rumoured to be interest in a number of them, from signing Caoimhin Kelleher as the long-term number on to bringing back Ben Doak on a temporary basis.
As we head towards the January transfer window, Celtic are now being linked with another Liverpool player. It is their Japanese defensive midfielder, Wataru Endo.
Endo was signed by Liverpool last season and did a decent job for the club. Jurgen Klopp departed the club in the summer though and was replaced by Arne Slot. And the midfielder does not seem to have a major part in the new manager's plans.
Endo has mostly been left on the bench or used as a substitute very late in games. Could it lead to an Anfield exit in the near future?

As reported by CaughtOffside, Endo is seeking a new club due to insufficient playing time at Liverpool. Other than AC Milan, clubs such as Celtic, Fulham, Wolves and Ipswich Town have also shown interest in the Japanese international.
Of course, it remains to be seen whether Celtic do indeed end up making a move for Endo or not. He is not the profile of player that the club sign often.
Endo is 31 years of age and has a long-term contract with Liverpool. And considering the clubs interested in him, one would expect the Anfield side to look for a decent transfer fee to part ways with the Japanese international.
All of this makes a move to Celtic unlikely. Add to that the fact that there is not a real need for a defensive midfielder in Brendan Rodgers' side in the majority of games.
