The last win that Celtic enjoyed under the management of Brendan Rodgers, before he resigned from his post, was the 2-1 comeback victory against Sturm Graz in the Europa League. Following the bright start with Martin O'Neill and Shaun Maloney, some fans will already be hoping to turn their European campaign around and make it into the next round. Fortunately, they have been handed a boost in that regard for one of their upcoming games in the competition.

Celtic will be taking on Feyenoord in one of their Europa League games in November. The Hoops have mixed memories when it comes to facing the Dutch side in recent times.

The two met in the Champions League a couple of seasons back. At home, Celtic registered their first win in the competition in years when they defeated Feyenoord. But then, they lost at De Kuip, with two of their players being sent off on that night.

So, it is hard to predict what will happen away in the Netherlands this season. But Feyenoord have confirmed a blow they have received regarding their upcoming matchup against Celtic, as well as another one.

UEFA confirms ban for Celtic's Europa League game

Feyenoord announced on the club's official website that they have been given a heavy penalty by UEFA following their Europa League match against Panathinaikos FC. This means that the entire Gerard Meijer Tribune must remain empty for the upcoming matches against Celtic and Sturm Graz.

Of course, that is the area of the stadium where the most passionate Feyenoord fans sit. So, their absence will be a blow for them when Celtic come visiting.

Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic can maintain the start that they have made under O'Neill and Maloney. If they can, they have a chance against Feyenoord. They might even find a permanent manager by then, who knows.
