Celtic signed some spectacular players while Ange Postecoglou was the manager of the club and the likes of Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate, Alistair Johnston, Liam Scales and Cameron Carter-Vickers continue to start for the Hoops. On the other hand, Jota and Matt O'Riley brought in Scottish-record fees when they left.

That does not mean that things worked out for every signing made in the Postecoglou era. One who never settled down at Celtic was Alexandro Bernabei.

Bernabei is currently out on loan. He returned to South America and is playing for Internacional. And to be honest, the Argentine is excelling for the Brazilian club.

So much so that Internacional are already thinking about Bernabei's future at the club, and are considering options like signing him permanently or extending his loan spell. Talks are seemingly already underway with his agent. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Brazilian side's president Alessandro Barcellos told Radio Gaucha:

"Bernabei is on loan with the club until the end of the year. We still need to work with the club that owns his rights to buy him or extend the loan, whatever the possible strategy.

"We have already started talks with the player’s agent, who has expressed an interest in staying, which is important in the process. We hope to have a favourable outcome, but this will only happen towards the end of the year.

“Our idea is to keep Bernabei, as he increases in value with each game that passes. He is a player who has earned his space, conquered it, and maintained it, and today he is a very important performer for our team."

It is quite clear that things were not working for Bernabei at Celtic. So, it is good to see that he is doing well away on loan.

He might not have a future at the club despite his impressive performances away on loan. But at least it means that Celtic can bring in a solid transfer fee when or if he does leave on a permanent basis.

On the other hand, the left-back position remains one of worry for Celtic. Greg Taylor is the starting there but is he good enough to help the club progress in Europe? Alex Valle has shown promising signs since arriving on loan from Barcelona but what does the long-term future hold for him at Parkhead? There are a lot of questions that remain unanswered. Hopefully, we will find those answers very soon.
