Here we are again. Another international break is upon us. They do seem tiresome and boring for fans of club football, and the majority of players at Celtic aren't getting much of a rest or break either. Many are away with their national teams at various international levels and hoping to play in a couple of matches.

For some, like the trio of Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo, it's probably very exciting. Especially for the latter with his call-up back into the Japan squad. The midfielder too will be keen to build on the opportunity.

For other players in Brendan Rodgers’ squad, the chance to play for their national team brings a slightly different opportunity. Luis Palma, for example, will be eager to get some game time. He’s been struggling in that respect at Celtic of late.

During the previous international period, Palma opted to stay behind with the club rather than travel to represent the Honduran national team. His manager, Reinaldo Rueda, was supportive of that decision. But this time the winger is back with his national squad and preparing for two tough games against Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League.

As reported by the Daily Record, Palma told Deportes TVC:

"I’m working, striving day by day, wanting to take the same performance I had before at the club and coming here is a pride.

"I'm happy to be in the national team and waiting for the things I’ve been proposing to happen so that they come out of everything the best."

It does make sense for Palma to be with the Honduras squad. He is a star player over there and perhaps the chance to get a decent period on the pitch for a change will be a boost. On the other hand, he could perhaps do without all the focus and attention he gets while with his national team.

Rodgers needs a hard-working, focused, and direct Palma in his squad. Not a player who is full of flicks and tricks.

Nicolas Kuhn has shown a level of work and industry, combined with goals and assists that Palma needs to aim for. He had shown similar qualities in his first few months at Parkhed though and hopefully, he can get back to that level soon.
