The January transfer window is going to be vital for Celtic to make sure that Wilfried Nancy has a real opportunity to make his Parkhead stint a success. If they continue with his current squad, then there is no real hope for the Frenchman as he clearly does have the personnel to implement his style of football.

One of the areas where Celtic should look to strengthen is right wing-back. That is an important aspect of the style that Nancy's teams play, with a three-back defence.

Right now, they do not have the right options for that role. Alistair Johnston would be perfect, having already played under Nancy at CF Montreal. But he has picked up a lot of injuries in recent times and is currently out with a long-term one. It is difficult to rely on him due to his injury-prone record as well.

On the other hand, the club do not have any real alternatives for that role. So, signing someone there will be vital in the winter. Julian Araujo of Bournemouth is someone who has been linked with the Hoops lately. Will be the right choice?

Former Barcelona manager, Xavi, did hold Araujo in high regard. As reported by Football Insider, he had said:

"He is strong, powerful, positive, and has a very good shot from distance."

Ultimately, Araujo had not made the grade at Barcelona. He spent time out on loan playing for Las Palmas before Bournemouth paid a transfer fee in the region of €10 million to sign him on a permanent basis.

He has not been playing often at Bournemouth though. This season, he has made only one appearance. So, it is not hard to understand why the player could be on the move this winter and it will be a good chance for Celtic to sign him on loan.
