Celtic look to have every chance of landing reported midfielder target Niko Sigur. The Bhoys are in the market for another midfielder or two as they look to replace Arne Engels this summer.
The Bhoys sold Engels for £22million and were left particularly short in the holding midfield positions for Wednesday night's Champions League qualifier with LASK, especially with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suspended.
Mika Baur deputised there, but he usually plays a little further forward, and there is no doubting that Celtic need to find a more defensive-minded midfielder, or at least one who can play a hybrid role comfortably.
Canadian international Sigur has emerged as a genuine option, likely available for just £3million, and in a fresh address, Hajduk Split's sporting director, Robert Graf, has described why.
"Rokas Pukstas and Niko Sigur. Those two players," he said when asked about possible sales. He went on to confirm that Split's budget is "around zero."
"At least I don't have a problem with money because I don't have it," Graf continued.
"Financially, we're not looking the best. I hope that after selling players, we'll manage to set aside some money for transfers."
With Sigur available for so cheap, and Split clearly happy to sell, it would be a wise signing for Celtic. The 22-year-old is a defensive midfielder and has already been capped 22 times despite his relative youth.
Such a cheap signing may even allow Celtic to go and get another midfielder to add further depth, given they welcomed so much money for Engels, doubling their initial investment on the Belgian.
Celtic do still need to address other areas, though. Martin O'Neill needs a left-back and a goalkeeper signing, but the club certainly has the money to sign Sigur and three more. Whether they will, and indeed whether they can, is another question.
