It looks like things are starting to get busy late in the winter transfer window for Celtic. Until now, it has mostly revolved around players leaving the club. But over the last few days, there could be some fresh faces arriving at Parkhead. At least that seems to be the aim of the Hoops. It remains to be seen if they are able to execute it.
Celtic were always expected to sign a winger this summer. They have done so, bringing back Jota from Rennes, merely 18 months after he left the club in a £25 million transfer.
Most fans would have felt that that filled the need for another winger at Celtic. But now, it looks like the club are looking to sign another one and have already seen a transfer offer be rejected by his team.
As reported by Anthony Joseph, Sarpsborg have rejected Celtic’s opening bid of £4.6 million for Sondre Ørjasæter. The Norwegian club are trying to resist bids in this window, but the Hoops are looking to pursue a deal. It’s understood that they value the 21-year-old winger at a transfer fee around £7 million.

Ørjasæter appears to be someone who has caught the eye of Celtic. Now, it remains to be seen if they are able to get a deal done for him and bring him to Glasgow this winter.
To be honest, Ørjasæter's numbers for Sarpsborg are not particularly impressive. So, Celtic must have seen something in his style of play that suits Brendan Rodgers' system.
To be fair, Rodgers does have a great record when it comes to getting the best out of wingers. Names like Scott Sinclair, Patrick Roberts and Nicolas Kuhn are just some examples of that. Will we add the name of Ørjasæter to that list in the near future?
