Kyogo has been heavily linked with a move away from Parkhead in recent times. In the summer, Manchester City were rumoured to hold an interest in the Japanese striker, having parted ways with Julian Alvarez, who made the move to Atletico Madrid. This winter, it is Atlanta United who are being tipped as the Celtic striker's next destination.

Kyogo has been brilliant for Celtic since arriving in the summer of 2021 and has won eight trophies playing in the Hoops. But one cannot deny the fact that he has never looked at his best since Ange Postecoglou left the club and was replaced by Brendan Rodgers.

Kyogo scored 19 goals last season and has managed 10 so far this time around. While not bad numbers, he had scored 54 times in his two seasons working with Postecoglou including a remarkable 34 in the 22/23 campaign.

While the exit rumours grow, there is a positive update for the fans. As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have had no contact from any club for Kyogo in this window, so far.

Of course, there are three weeks left in the winter transfer window. Plenty of time for that to change. But there is further cause for optimism as well.

Atlanta United are the club who have been most heavily linked with a move for Kyogo in recent days. But, the MLS club recently announced the signing of another Japanese striker, Cayman Togashi.

One can only hope that Celtic do end up sticking with Kyogo for the time being. While he has not been as prolific as the Hoops need him to be, he is still the number one option up front and letting him leave in the middle of the season could be a mistake.
