It looks like Celtic are pushing to sign a winger as soon as possible. Earlier, there had been suggestions that the club had opened talks to sign Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Sondre Orjasaeter, two names that had been on their radar in the past as well. Now, it looks like they are moving forward regarding Benjamin Nygren as well.

Most Celtic fans would not have heard of Nygren even a couple of days back. It is only recently that the Swedish international winger's name has cropped up in the rumour mill.

He does seem to possess a pretty decent record. In the 24/25 season, Nygren has scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists in 32 appearances for Nordsjaelland.

Nygren is delivering at the international level as well. In four appearances for the Sweden national team, the 23-year-old has scored twice.

Now, there is a major update on this situation. As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have been granted permission by Nordsjaelland to speak to Nygren. The Scottish champions are in talks with the Swede's representatives to join the club. If they can agree terms with the player, they will enter negotiations with the Danish club.

Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to agree on terms with Nygren or not. There is believed to be interest in him from the top five leagues as well. But this might be the best step for his career.

At the end of the day, it is good to see that Celtic are showing some urgency when it comes to transfers once again. Since the departure of Ange Postecoglou and the return of Brendan Rodgers as manager, they have let things drag on in this regard for far too long at times. That needs to change.
