All the talk surrounding Celtic over the last few weeks has been regarding potential signings. Fortunately, there seems to be some positive movement in that regard as well. The Hoops have agreed a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach for their Czech international striker, Tomas Cvancara. An announcement is expected to be made soon, with the Scottish champions having a £7 million option to buy included in the loan.

On the other hand, some of Celtic's players are drawing interest as well. In fact, one of them is being linked with a return to the Bundesliga.

Celtic have been criticised a lot for their lack of backing for Brendan Rodgers. That was not the case in the summer of 2024 though, when they did make quite a few big-money signings. One of them was Arne Engels, for whom the Hoops broke their transfer record.

So far, he has not met those expectations, but that has not stopped teams from trying to sign him. As reported by Sky Sports, Engels is expected to stay at the club in this transfer window. A number of Bundesliga clubs are keen on the Belgium international, with RB Leipzig even making an enquiry for the player. However, he is believed to be happy at Parkhead and is also said to be really enjoying playing under Martin O'Neill.

Let's see what the future holds for Engels. Right now, he seems settled at Celtic and is not actively looking for a move away.

Things can change quickly in football though. A lot might depend on how he players, and how often, between now and the end of the season.

He is someone who often shows flashes of quality. But he has not been as consistent as fans would like from the club's record signing.
