Celtic came into this winter transfer window with the need to sign multiple strikers. They have managed to bring in one so far in the form of Tomas Cvancara. The Czech Republic international is not a man in form though. The Hoops could certainly do with someone who has been amongst the goals. And how about someone who scored a brace against Manchester City in a historic win for his current side?
In case you have not guessed it by now, we are talking about none other than Kasper Hogh. The Norwegian scored twice in Bodo/Glimt's 3-1 win over Manchester City in the Champions League.
That has brought the spotlight to Hogh. And now, it looks like Celtic have made a move, looking to sign the 25-year-old.
As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have made an enquiry for Hogh but face competition from a number of clubs across Europe. The 25-year-old remains a target for Norwich City, who continue to monitor his situation. The Bodo/Glimt striker's future will be decided later this week, after their crucial Champions League match against Atletico Madrid.
Sky Sports confirm Celtic's move for 25-year-old striker
Hogh's name might have been boosted by his brace against Man City, but he has been a solid performer for Bod/Glimt throughout his time at the club. Overall, he has scored 42 goals and provided 12 assists in 82 appearances for them.
So, if Celtic are able to sign Hogh in the near future, it would have to be considered a coup for the club. Now, it remains to be seen where things head from here.
There is not a lot of time left in the window though. So, Celtic will need to be quick, no matter what they want to do in terms of signings as well as departures.
