Sky Sport's Gianluca Di Marzio has dropped some summer transfer news that will definitely interest Celtic.

One good thing about Celtic this summer has been the fact that they seem to have multiple targets in the same position. So, if they miss out on one, they can quickly switch to the alternative. That has not always been the case in the past, as the Hoops have often allowed transfer sagas for too long. Hopefully, we won't see a repeat this time and the pace at which business has been done so far is impressive.

Celtic definitely seem to be looking to strengthen their forward ranks this summer. They have already brought in Callum Osmand from Fulham and a move for Kawasaki Frontale's Japanese international, Shin Yamada, might not be far away either.

On top of that, Celtic have also been linked with Giuseppe Ambrosino of Napoli, with the idea of a loan with an option to buy being floated. But one rumoured target that the Hoops look set to miss out on is Evan Ferguson.

It has been suggested for months that Celtic want to sign him on loan from Brighton. But the Ireland international seems to be headed for Italy instead, with AS Roma emerging as the most likely club to sign him this summer.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Ferguson has made his decision. He has chosen AS Roma from among the many clubs that have shown interest in him. Negotiations are now underway with Brighton.

But that does not mean that the deal is done.  The English club is asking for €45 million for the buyout option. However, Roma would like to try to close the deal for less.

Let's see if the two clubs can find an agreement over the coming days and weeks. Considering the numbers being floated, there is very little chance of Celtic getting into this race.
