Over the years, we have seen many Celtic heroes join some of the biggest clubs in world football. Right now, Virgil van Dijk is at Liverpool. While Andy Robertson never played for the Hoops at the senior level, he was also part of their youth ranks at one point. Henrik Larsson won the Champions League with FC Barcelona and also played for Manchester United. There are plenty of other such examples.
One club hero who recently moved to the Premier League is Matt O'Riley. The Danish international left Celtic last summer to complete a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.
But merely a year later, he is already being linked with a move away from Brighton. It looks like some of Italian football top clubs are interested in signing him.
The likes of AS Roma, Atalanta and Napoli had already been linked with the Dane in this transfer window. Now, another European giant's name has been added to that list. As reported by Sky Sport, Juventus have interest in O'Riley. He is a name for the midfield but first the focus is on departures.
Sky Sport confirm Juventus interest in signing Celtic hero
It remains to be seen if Juventus end up making a move for O'Riley this summer. Earlier, there had been suggestions that Brighton are open to the idea of his exit if the right offer arrives at their table.
Brighton had shelled out a transfer fee in the region of £25 million to sign O'Riley from Celtic last summer. It is believed that they could let him depart for an offer around £30 million.
Let's see if Juventus, or any other club, end up making that sort of an offer to sign O'Riley. The Danish international leaving would be good news for Celtic as well, as they are believed to hold a sell-on clause in the deal.
