It is safe to say that Celtic are not in good form at the moment. They failed to score in 210-plus minutes of football against Kairat. They were held to a goalless draw against the Rangers at Ibrox. And even in their most recent game, which was a late win, they needed a late penalty to get past Kilmarnock.

It is safe to say that Brendan Rodgers' side are not exactly playing exciting football at the moment and look short on confidence. They need to have a decent game as soon as possible to rediscover their form.

Celtic fans will be hoping that the upcoming Scottish League Cup game against Partick Thistle proves to be that matchup. There is potential for Rodgers' side to score a few times against Championship opposition.

That being said, it is a risk as well. The last thing Celtic need right now is to be on the end of a cup upset. So, they cannot take the opposition lightly and must take their A-game to Firhill Stadium next weekend. And heading into the match, SFA have announced the officials for the day.

As reported by the Scottish FA's official website, Kevin Clancy will be the referee for the upcoming game between Celtic and Partick Thistle. He will be assisted by Ross Macleod and David Dunne.

The best referees are the ones that you never notice. And Celtic will be hoping that that is the case next weekend as well. Nobody wants to see controversy arise due to officiating decisions. The best team will hopefully win.

In the recent past, we have seen Celtic lose early Scottish League Cup games. So, they will need to be careful about this one, even though it might look like a relatively simple task on paper.
