Some Celtic fans booed what should have been a minute of reflection for Remembrance Sunday. As is the case at all clubs in the UK this weekend, a minute's silence was scheduled ahead of Celtic's Scottish Premiership clash with Kilmarnock on Sunday.
But as the players gathered for the moment of reflection in remembrance of all those who have lost their lives in the British Armed Forces, some fans began to whistle and jeer.
The referee signalled the start of the minute and was forced to cut it short at around 12 seconds after sections of Parkhead continued to boo and whistle.
Similar situations have emerged previously, with some Celtic fans refusing to take part in the tradition, largely due to the club's Irish roots and the British Army's role in The Troubles. With the day commemorating all who have lost their lives representing the Armed Forces, soliders who were involved in that war are naturally commemorated on Armed Forces Day.
Celtic also decided not to mark the occasion with a poppy on their shirt, while Kilmarnock did. Celtic's social media channels were also devoid of any tribute, which is usually a part of the day for club media channels.
As has been the case previously, many have picked up the clips of the booing on social media and taken aim at the Celtic fans who disrupted the minute.
