The transfer window is well and truly up and running, although some have made faster starts than others. Celtic are yet to make any moves, but we are likely to see plenty of transfer action at Parkhead this summer.

The likes of Rangers and Hearts are also likely to do plenty of business as they look to bridge the title gap, and both of those clubs are already making moves.

Here we round up the transfer latest from Celtic and across the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic set for Basic competition

Celtic have been linked with a move for Bosnia and Herzegovina international Ivan Basic this summer. The Bhoys need to freshen up the midfield amid Arne Engels' likely departure and Callum McGregor's increasing age.

But Basic is attracting attention from more than just Celtic, with Sports24.kz reporting that LaLiga club Elche and Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are both monitoring the midfielder, as are Levski Sofia in Bulgaria are also said to be interested.

Basic is set to be available on an affordable asking price of around £2million, but a deal might have to wait until after his World Cup participation is over. By that time, a couple - or even a few - clubs could be ready to make a bid, perhaps including Celtic.

Rangers backed to re-sign star

Rangers are being backed to re-sign former loan player Vaclav Cerny this summer. Cerny spent last season with Besiktas, having impressed on loan at Ibrox the season before. Links have now resurfaced involving a potential move back to Glasgow, and Keith Wyness, who runs a consultancy firm advising elite clubs, having previously been Everton chief, thinks a deal could be relatively affordable

Wyness told The Inside Track: “I think they'll get it done at about £5m, but I do think he's exactly the type of player they need. He's got the experience. McInnes will want that Premiership experience as well. He's a quality player and played well for Rangers. There'll probably be some add-ons, but I think they can get it done at £5m, and it's a very good move if they can get Cerny in."

Mulligan race hots up

Hibs midfielder Josh Mulligan might just have his pick of clubs this summer. Mulligan has been attracting interest from West Ham this summer, with the Hammers preparing for a Championship campaign.

And now Ben Jacobs is reporting that Southampton are ready to join the race just as West Ham prepare to step up their own interest. The 23-year-old could land Hibs a solid fee this summer, with three years left on his current deal.
