It would be safe to say that Celtic are the team under pressure going into the Scottish League Cup final. Whenever you take on the Hoops at Hampden Park, it is pretty much a free hit. That will be the case for St Mirren this weekend. On the other hand, Wilfried Nancy goes into the fixture with a lot to prove after losing his first two games as the club's manager, 2-1 at the hands of Hearts and then 3-0 against AS Roma.

The last thing that Nancy needs is to lose a third straight game, with this one being a cup final as well. It might have only been a week since he arrived, but it does not take long for things to go wrong at clubs of this size.

Winning is not a want at Celtic; it is a need. And if Nancy wants to have a long run in the Parkhead hot seat, he must find a way to win games of football moving forward. The League Cup final against St Mirren will be a brilliant place to start doing that.

On the other hand, the Scottish FA have announced the officials for the final. Kevin Clancy will be the referee. He will be assisted by Calum Spence and Gordon Crawford. Don Robertson will be on VAR duty with Matthew MacDermid as his assistant.

The best type of refereeing in games like these is when you don't even notice them. Hopefully, that is what we will witness.

The last thing that you want is for there to be any controversial decisions. Now, let's wait and watch how this one plays out.

For Celtic, there is only one outcome that they must focus on. And that is winning. It does not matter how.
