Celtic have lost all four of their games since Wilfried Nancy took charge of the team. The board have stuck with the French manager for the time being, as they would not be keen to sack him just two weeks into his run and admit that they got the appointment completely wrong. That being said, at some point, they might no choice but to make that decision, if the Hoops continue to lose games.
A lot of damage has been done already. Celtic have lost the Scottish League Cup final under the management of Nancy. On top of that, they have lost ground in the Premiership and the Europa League as well. So much so that many people are now starting to view the Rangers as the favourites for the title despite the horror spell of Russell Martin at Ibrox earlier in the season.
Next up for Celtic is a game against Aberdeen. Of course, the Hoops have a bit of history with the Dons recently, having lost the Scottish Cup final against them last season.
If Aberdeen are able to beat Celtic this weekend, that might very well spell the end of Nancy as the club's manager. So, a lot is riding on this result.
Scottish FA make official Celtic vs Aberdeen announcement
The Scottish FA have announced the officials for the upcoming game between Celtic and Aberdeen. David Dickinson will be the referee and will be assisted by Ross Macleod and Ross Nelson. Greg Aitken will be on VAR duty and Ross Hardie will be his assistant.
One can only hope that refereeing decisions do not have end up having an impact on the result of the match. That is never a guarantee in Scottish football though.
As for the action on the pitch, Celtic desperately need a win. Even a draw would be a step in the positive direction but not good enough.
