Celtic goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was delighted with his side's 'great win' after defeating Hibernian in 'tough conditions' on Sunday afternoon.
The Bhoys came through the test with a 2-1 away win thanks to a Camilo Durán winner just before half-time, with Hibs having scored an own goal just two minutes after taking the lead.
The conditions at Easter Road were not particularly favourable for playing flowing football, with a horrid wind making it difficult for both teams to bring the ball down and play.
Hibs even put a centre-back up top in Grant Hanley at one stage, fully committing to the long ball after realising nothing else was working. And it must be said, it wasn't working for either team.
Celtic keeper Johnstone said after the game when speaking to Sky Sports: "Yeah, a great win. Tough place to come. Really tough conditions, That's a massive win for us. They gave it their all, and we had to defend really well. Difficult, but for everyone it's the same.
"When the ball goes in the air, you don't know where it's going to go, There were a few sloppy passes. It was tough but the lads dug in."
Johnstone has now played back-to-back games having spent much of the season as Viljami Sinisalo's back-up. The reason for that is unclear. Sinisalo wasn't great against Benfica in Celtic's heavy defeat there, but he was much better against Hearts a few days later ahead of being dropped.
It seems to be that O'Neill wants to rotate the keepers every so often, and it's unclear whether Johnstone will now keep the number one spot, but he is enjoying the rare taste of football nonetheless.
"Yeah, of course. It's always good to play," he added. "I love playing, and the goal of the group is always competition, to push each other every day in training and support each other."
Elsewhere, Martin O'Neill spoke about the importance of getting what turned out to be the winning goal just before half-time. He said: "We were playing with the wind in the first half even though it was swirling around. For us to get the goal before half time, changes the mindset, tactics, whatever you want to think about. We got the goal and if we hadn't done, we would have had to press for it. We saw it through eventually, and I'm delighred to have won the game."
