This Michel-Ange Balikwisha transfer saga has been full of twists and turns since he was first linked with a move to Celtic last summer. Injuries prevented him from leaving Royal Antwerp last season. But this time around, the Belgian winger is believed to be keen on a move to Parkhead. And earlier, it had emerged that a transfer fee had been agreed between the two parties. Yet, nothing seems guaranteed. Why is that the case?

There have been some talks about 'internal issues' stalling Balikwisha's move to Celtic. At this point, all we can do is wait and watch how things unfold.

As reported by The Celtic Way, the clubs have now agreed a transfer fee of £4.5 million. Personal terms are not believed to be an issue either. But there are concerns that a medical may not be straightforward.

Balikwisha suffered from muscle injury issues last season and it kept him out on the sidelines for large portions of the 24/25 season. Could it prove to be a roadblock when it comes to his potential move to Celtic this summer?

It is worth pointing out that Balikwisha has been playing regular football so far this season. He has started all four of Royal Antwerp's games so far and even scored once. Incidentally, that came in the only match that they have won, with the other three ending in draws.

It is also worth pointing out that Balikwisha has been playing in the number 10 role this season. His ability to play there would give Brendan Rodgers another interesting option and a bit of more versatility to his squad.

That being said, it is still unclear whether a move to Celtic will go through or not. Considering a transfer fee has been agreed, we would hope that the Hoops find a way to get this over the line although if there are fitness concerns during his medical, it would be best to look elsewhere instead.
