Rangers man Barry Ferguson has branded Neil McCann as "sour" after his Kilmarnock side lost to Celtic.

When asked by a Celtic fan on Go Radio about McCann and his comments, Ferguson said:

"It happens after games. He is disappointed. He’s gone the full distance, near enough, with Celtic. Then you lose it in the last kick of the ball. I just think it was a sour one to take. That’s how I look at it."

And sour is certainly the correct word for it all.

After Julian Aurajo sent the away end into bedlam with his last gasp winner, the fullback jumped into the crowd to enjoy the celebrations. The look on McCann's face was priceless as the Killie manager just couldn't believe that he had lost it right at the death.

Following the full-time whistle, McCann made comments about the amount of time added on:

"I’m angry, of course I am. I’m so disappointed because I truly believe that we deserved something from the game.

The last [goal] today was the sorest clearly, as it was right at the end of the game with a minute left. I’m not quite sure where they get seven minutes from – they just make it up these days.

But nonetheless, we still have to manage that. And that’s what I’m most angry about."

Funnily enough, if his Kilmarnock side were to do less time wasting in the 90 minutes, he might see less time being added on by the referee. McCann is just adding fuel to the fire, what with all the conspiracy theories on social media about how added time is now "play until Celtic score". Celtic fight for the badge right until the final whistle, and it's not the Hoops' fault if the other team doesn't.

Same added time for both teams

Ferguson, out of all people, siding with Celtic on this one says everything you need to know. There is no conspiracy going on in Scottish football regarding added time; it's simply Martin O'Neill's side having a never-say-die mentality.

We can all hope that tomorrow against VfB Stuttgart, Celtic won't need to rely on a late winner or equaliser. Our domestic escapades may not work so well on the European stage. We'll need to be at our best to get a result over Stuttgart, but if anyone can do it, it's Celtic.

Celtic continue their title race with important fixtures coming up in the league. They will take on Hibernian, Rangers, Aberdeen, Motherwell and Dundee United, and all of those games will be played while the Celts also compete in the Europa League and the Scottish Cup. Never a boring time to be a Hoops supporter; it's rather stressful instead.
