A lot of Rangers fans sounded bitter as they reacted to Celtic's win vs Feyenoord in Martin O'Neill's last game in Europe.

That is that for Martin O'Neill's time as a Celtic manager in Europe. To be honest, nobody had thought that he would get a second run at Parkhead and was retired for all intents and purposes. But when the club was in hand, he took the call and has done a very good job. He deserves all the credit in the world and we can only wish him the best of luck.

As for Celtic, this was a tremendous performance. O'Neill has certainly gotten a tune out of a team that looked so poor during the final months of Brendan Rodgers' run at Parkhead.

That being said, it does put on some pressure on incoming boss, Wilfried Nancy. Celtic fans will no longer view this team as one that was struggling to get results under Rodgers. Instead, this is one that won five of their last six games.

On the other hand, the Rangers fans sounded pretty bitter while reacting to the result that Celtic were able to get away in the Netherlands. As one of their fans wrote on a fan forum: "They'll soon be back to Earth with a loud thump when they meet a decent team in form."

Well, Celtic certainly did not come up against a decent team in the Scottish League Cup semi-final a few weeks back at Hampden Park. So, the result was 3-1 in their favour, as one would have expected.

Then again, one cannot ignore that the Hoops have had their troubles winning away from home in Europe in recent years. Then again, O'Neill's biggest success as a Celtic manager was getting them to the final of the UEFA Cup a couple of decades back.

He has proven that he is still capable of delivering some top results in Europe. Saying goodbye to him at the weekend will be tough.
