Scotland will end their 28-year wait to feature at a World Cup next summer. Steve Clarke's men secured their spot at the tournament in the United States in a thrilling game against Denmark. With the game tied at 2-2 past 90 minutes, it looked like it was going to end in a draw, and they would miss out once again. But then Celtic hero, Kieran Tierney, stepped up to put them ahead in added time. Kenny McLean would add a fourth to seal the deal, making history in the process.

It was clearly a bittersweet moment for a lot of Rangers fans on the night. Scotland were headed to the World Cup but it was a Celtic hero that had made sure of it.

Of course, there were plenty of other things to remember from the night as well. Manchester United must regret parting ways with Scott McTominay, who has been superb for Napoli and scored an overhead kick for Scotland in this game. McLean's goal from the halfway line was incredible as well.

It was a historic result for the national team and a game that will be remembered for generations to come. Yet, there were some who could not look past the fact that it was Tierney's goal, and a brilliant one at that, which had won them the match for all intents and purposes.

Rangers fans' bitter reaction as Kieran Tierney sends Scotland to World Cup

One Rangers fan wrote on a fan forum when Tierney had scored the brilliant goal against Denmark: "I refuse to celebrate that."

Another Rangers fan added: "I cant celebrate that."

The majority of them were happy to concede that it was a fantastic finish. On second thoughts, 'happy' might not be the word to use here.

All things considered, it was a fantastic night for Scottish football as a whole. And hopefully, Tierney will get a massive boost from this as well.
