Rangers fans eye next manager as Philippe Clement struggles vs Celtic
This midweek, the Rangers got themselves a 4-0 win in the Europa League over FCSB. But that result will not go a long way in satisfying the fans, who saw the Ibrox club lose to Kilmarnock at the weekend, failing to take advantage of dropped points by Celtic and Aberdeen. Unless something changes drastically changes over the next few months, Philippe Clement's exit is starting to feel inevitable.
Some of the Rangers fans are already trying to identify probable candidates for their next manager. In recent weeks, there has been a ton of talk about a potential Steven Gerrard.
On the other hand, there are others who want a return of a different kind. Kevin Muscat played for Rangers in the early 2000s. The Australian has gone on to enjoy a decent bit of success in management since then, albeit outside of Europe.
Celtic struck gold when they brought in Ange Postecoglou as their manager. Will the Rangers look to follow suit by appointing Muscat, if Clement were to depart at some point in the near future?

One cannot deny the success that Muscat has enjoyed in management. He won titles with Melbourne Victory and Yokohama F. Marinos. He is currently at Shanghai Port, who sit second in their league table.
Muscat's only foray into management in Europe came with Sint-Truiden. That did not prove to be a success though.
And there is no guarantee that a move to Ibrox would work out well for him either. It has not for many in recent years. Gerrard might have won a league title during his time at the club but that was his only success in more than three years at Ibrox. So, it remains to be seen how things play out.
