Celtic's quest to strengthen their forward ranks this summer has seen them being linked with a number of strikers. A few moves have already been made or are in the process. Callum Osmand has been brought in from Fulham after an excellent Premier League 2 campaign for which he was nominated for Player of the Season.
A move for Shin Yamada is believed to be close as well. He is expected to complete a transfer to Celtic once his Japan national team duty ends in a few days.
Giuseppe Ambrosino of Napoli is another player who has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent times. The Hoops are believed to be interested in bringing him in on loan with an option to buy included in the deal.
Another striker they have been linked with for months is Evan Ferguson. It is believed that AS Roma are close to signing him on loan. But, Celtic might not be completely out of the picture just yet.
Premier League striker could reject AS Roma if Celtic make offer
As reported by The Sunday Times (via CeltsAreHere), Ferguson could reconsider his move to AS Roma if the Hoops decide to reignite their interest. The report suggests that he may have second thoughts about heading to Italy should an offer from Celtic materialise.
Ferguson was one of the highest-rated youngsters in world football not too long ago and was viewed as someone who could be the next £100 million striker. But it is safe to say that his reputation has been on the decline over the past couple of seasons.
Last season, Ferguson scored just once. He spent the first half of the season at Brighton before heading to West Ham on loan. But even reuniting with Graham Potter was not enough to reignite his form.
